About Mom:

My name is Maura and I am wife to Frank and mom of six wonderful children ranging in age from new to 19.  I am a network engineer and currently work at home for a medium size company.  I have sixteen years of experience in the Information Technology field.  Along the way, I’ve enjoyed employment at several large corporations and worked for myself as an independent consultant.

Several years ago, I began dreaming of staying at home full time with my children.  We were on the way to making the dream a reality when Frank suffered an accident that left him unable to walk or work for almost two years.  During this time, God provided for our family by introducing a client that needed my consulting services for a three-week stint.  Those three weeks turned into three months and now six years later I am still here.

I’ve suffered a layoff along the way, came back to work for the same company part-time, and finally came back full time with the amazing opportunity to work at home.

The dream has changed somewhat…from being a stay at home mom to working at home for myself.

I’m still unsure what I want to do when I grow up, but I’m having fun researching the many opportunities available to work at home.  I also enjoy helping Frank with his business.  While I’ve been known to wield a hammer and help sand drywall, my talents are better suited to helping him find houses to rehab and keeping our financial world in check.

I’ve learned a lot about balancing my work and home life and hope to share some of that with you. Thanks for reading about me, and I hope you visit again soon.
