It was a beautiful day outside! 80 degrees with a nice breeze. I came home from work and kissed Frank goodbye, rounded up the babies, and went to the doctor. Sadly, 3/5 of my children are sick with a bronchial infection of some type.
It was WAY after lunchtime when we finished at the doctor and I was tempted to stop at McDonald’s on the way home. I reminded myself that it would be better to bank the $20 and give the kids healthy food at home. I made a quick tortilla soup and we had sliced apples w/ peanut butter.
After we ate, I had everyone change into pajamas and they climbed into my bed. I opened the windows and let the warm breeze flow in as I snuggled my sick babies. Once they fell asleep, I took out the laptop and worked for an hour or so.
Even though the day was hectic at first, I did enjoy it.
Edited to add: Our prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Frank and I wish we were in a position to physically go to the hard hit areas and volunteer. It may not be a lot, but we are donating money and will continue to do so over the next few months.
